SWIMS ARE AT OWN RISK! Swims are not held in down poring rain nor during T storm activity. You must be comfortable, competent, and know your limits during all OW swims. UDC is one of the safer areas to practice at in South County.

Parking can sometimes be available at the Snuff Mill lot and on SNUFF MILL RD itself as there are NO signs prohibiting parking on it at this time.

The SNUFF Mill Road lot is small and is open to all,so swimmers should remember they do not have exclusive rights to it,plenty of hikers,birders,and other folks use it much more than we do,all year long.

 SNUFF MILL LOT USERS, please, park nicely, keep it tight,tight, and make as much room for other cars as possible.Sideways parking, taking up lots of room in the lot IS FROWNED UPON and you will be admonished,plus be embarrassed,shamed and humiliated for doing so.Last year swimmers were boxed in, and roman chariot close calls were needed to get out. I know who you were, so do not make me ban you from that lot .

Snuff Mill parking lot users,follow the trail,always taking rights at any trail fork, pass the waterfall on your left,when you come to a wide trail, take a left and go down the spruce lined trail to the beach area. The trail takes approx 8-12 minutes to reach the swim area.WEARING LONG PANTS is recommended as ticks can be present if using the trail.

The other option,is to walk down to the bottom of SNUFF MILL ROAD and take a left using the dirt road to get to the swim site.This takes approx the same amount of time as the trail option,but does not have the roots,rocks,or tick situation,but is certainly less scenic.

PLEASE,PLEASE be courteous to the surrounding neighbors on the dirt road,and keep your voices down to a dull roar!Respect the people`s privacy that live on and off the dirt road that leads to the UDC and pick up any trash you may find along the way.
